Qualifications:   Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or comparable time in an audit role, required. Applicable professional certification and/or graduate degree preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Job Summary:  Under the direction of the Supervisory Committee and/or Vice President of Risk, this position is responsible to protect the assets of the Credit Union by conducting audits to assess the effectiveness of controls, accuracy of financial records and efficiency of operations, In addition, provides documentation of the Credit Union's internal control systems, report findings, and make recommendations.  Please review the following additional essential functions:


  1.  Develop and implement audit strategies
  2.  Conduct audits, develop recommendations and provide evaluation of adequacy of internal controls. Maintain source documents, work papers and audit trails for all audits performed
  3.  Completes required reporting and prepares an annual risk rated audit plan
  4.  Maintains internal procedures and develops written audit work programs
  5.  Collaborates with Risk Department to identify key areas of risk
  6.  Monitors changes to applicable federal and state regulations and adjusts audit plans to ensure compliance
  7.  Stays up to date on new risk and investigative techniques and best practices through trainings, professional meetings and associations

The position requires a professional approach in dealing with others as well as a positive attitude and high level of confidentiality.  The position requires effective written and verbal communication skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, and a strong knowledge of internal controls, auditing, and regulations relevant to financial institutions.
